QRIS and Accountability

To date, two states have incorporated the DERS into their QRIS (Quality Rating and Improvement System) frameworks. If you’d like to discuss advocacy efforts to make the DERS a part of your state’s accountability framework, please email ders@public-montessori.org.

Colorado

The Colorado Department of Education's Office of Early Childhood Workforce Development includes DERS Training and Certification in the Qualifying List of Credentials, Certificates, and Endorsements that educators use to log points towards their Colorado Early Childhood Professional Credential 2.0.

Pennsylvania

The Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning includes DERS as an approved Program Observation Instrument for Keystone STARS, the state’s QRIS.
